Ecology and Astronomy – Homeschool Science Curriculum Review & Giveaway

UPDATE: The winners have been selected! Congrats to Charlene Nuckols, Sarah K, Cindy Lou, Teresa Johnson, Laura Bowles, Cathy S, Meredith D, Alison Strew, Jennifer Payton Howe, and BA!  They’ve each been alerted via e-mail. Thanks for entering everyone!

Do y’all remember the Creation Science for Kids curriculum my family used last year? The Earth Science Unit and Biology Science Unit written by fellow homeschooling mom Mia of Homeschool Science Curriculum.  We loved it! I’m happy to report, Mia has done it again. Ecology and Astronomy is now available for purchase.  This curriculum is so great and easy to use!

The Ecology/Astronomy Science Study Unit contains the following 12 lessons:
  • Biomes
  • Consumers
  • Food Chain
  • Natural Cycles
  • Coping with Change
  • Pollution
  • Stars
  • Our Star
  • Planets
  • Our Moon
  • Space Rocks
  • Missions to Space
The lessons are designed to line up with the memory work from Classical Conversations.  It is 75 full-color pages with high-quality relevant photographs.  Each of the easy-to-use 12 lessons ends with Bible-based questions to encourage discussion.  We review them as a family, but you could just as easily give them to your older student to complete independently.  We all gather around my computer to read and discuss the lesson during our science time, but it could also be printed for use.  My littles consider any computer time a treat, so this works for us! Besides being Bible-based, easy to use, and beautiful, Ecology and Astronomy is also affordable at only $4.99! Visit here to see sample pages from 6 different units and a free Genesis 1 Bible study unit.  I’m seriously so excited and grateful to use this curriculum again this year! Mia was generous in sharing a copy with me to review and tell you all about.  But, her generosity didn’t end there! Mia has also offered 10 copies of Ecology and Astronomy to giveaway to y’all! If you win, Mia will send a link for you to download the file.  Then it is your option to print or use on your computer. Please enter below for your chance to win!  (Update: Please make sure you visit facebook to like CCatHome and scroll down to enter a comment.  Clicking the rafflecopter buttons alone will not enter you in the giveaway!)

This is also our first year in CC and I’m tutoring my daughter’s class as well. This looks like a great way to link what we do at home to what we’re learning in CC. Thanks for the giveaway…

This is our second year in CC and my first year to tutor. I love that this would go right with what we’re studying. Thanks for reviewing it!

We do lapbooks, keep journals, read bunches and bunches, and just get outside to study science. Would LOVE to have these on hand for Cycle 2- what a GREAT resource! Thanks for hosting, Beth!

I would love to win this too. This is our second year in CC. Science is usually studied her by allowing the children to explore God’s world and then research what they find. Now that they are getting older, I would like to have a little more structured curriculum for this.

We’ll be using lots of ideas from pinterest for experiments, but I’ve also been picking up books along the way for the different science weeks. Since this is our first year, I’m not totally sure what’s going to work best for us, but this is awesome!! I love that is corresponds to CC!!

We do CC only for science. In cycle 3, my daughter also read Apologia Anatomy book, but last year we didn’t supplement anything else. Oh, we watch magic school bus science video.

This is our first year of C.C. and only our second year of homeschooling, so I can’t say I actually HAVE a way of studying science just yet. But this sure would help!! Fingers crossed!!

We have studied science in a variety of ways: nature read alouds, co-op classes, and more formal (textbook) curriculum. We are part of a CC community now and I would love to try this resource from Homeschool Curriculum. Thanks for the great giveaway! 🙂
