Week Five – Perspective Art

For today’s review of fine arts, we worked on perspective this way.  First, I drew and colored a basic scenery sketch based on this post.

Next, I modified the idea from the post slightly, by having my road veer off to the left and by using one car, instead of two trees.  Mainly, because I have a home full of car loving littles.  So I drew, cut, and colored a car silhouette.  (Don’t laugh at my car! ha!)

Next, we moved the car up and down the road to see how the perspective I drew on the paper would affect how the size of the car appeared.

And finally, to prove the point of perspective, I took this same car and moved it all around a blank piece of paper while asking the littles if the size of the car appeared any different.  They said it did not, thereby proving the point!  Of course, you could also do this with 2 cars of the same size if you wanted.  Or 2 of any items sized the same.

Now, my littles want to create their own perspective art.  And let me tell you, their scenes will probably be more detailed and their cars much more realistic.  Of which, I am glad!
