What’s in a Blog (re) Name?

NewBlogName

As you know, the blog is now Pockets Full of Rocks (and no longer Classical Conversations at Home). I’m very excited about this. You can read here to see what the new name is all about! But, before I tell you what’s different, let me tell you what’s stayed the same. We are still happily homeschoolers. And we still love and use Classical Conversations in community and at home. I’d call us simply, classical homeschoolers with a touch of Charlotte Mason. But, we are more than that! We love Jesus Christ and seek to follow Him daily. We are so grateful to be saved by grace through faith. Jesus Christ is the reason we homeschool and we are blessed He chose to show our family love in this way.

As a family, we love sports – particularly baseball,  and traveling, but we’ll sign up for almost any adventure. I love to organize, decorate, and clean – 3 things that have come in very handy since we recently moved. I like creating pretty things, but I also like to move quickly, which means I’ve learned to be content with less than perfect results. 🙂 Speaking of perfect, I’m a recovering perfectionist. Five littles tends to do that to you…and despite my grumbling about mess sometimes, I know it’s for the best. Eating good, yummy food is important to me so I cook from scratch often and am raising my children with healthier palettes than my own. Books have always been my favorite way to fly away from the day and while I don’t have as much time these days to dream away in a book, I squeeze in some and love talking about my favorites. My husband is a hard worker who dreams of lazy days in a hammock or on the golf course, but mostly spends his days working and serving our family or community.

Changing the blog name gives me a chance to talk about all of that and more! It really allows me the chance to write about homeschooling plus. I’m pretty excited about that. Not to mention, the name itself is darn significant for the work God has been doing in my life, so I’m super excited to reflect that.

I’m grateful for the community we’ve built here and I hope you’ll stick around to see where things are headed. If you subscribe now (or subscribed in the past) to receive new posts via email, I’ll send you the hand lettered image pictured (in progress) above. You can save or print it. As God spoke this message over and over to me of using our days wisely, I spent time meditating on this passage through drawing. It’s not remotely perfect (Remember that part about pretty, but quick!), but I’d love for it to be a good reminder to you also. If you haven’t subscribed yet, just enter your email address on the right and click subscribe. That’s it! Now all blog posts, plus this free printable, will be sent to your inbox – easy peasy.
