I just love fun, free printables. Here are delightful ones I’ve found for back-to-school use {updated for the 2014-15 school year}.
First Day photo prop – Print and cut for your child to hold for their back to school photo.
Chalkboard Style First Day photo prop – There’s even a series of “I’m a first grader”, etc. printables. So cute!
First Day interview – Capture this snippet in time by asking your little about all of their favorites.
Four Bright & Fun Bookplate Designs – These brightly designed bookplates are so cool. Four designs – one for each little?
Sweet Little Bird Bookplates – The tender look of these captured me & the scalloped edge makes it even sweeter.
Vintage Style Bookplates – Print these out on card stock & you’d have a great back-to-school tutor present. I think I’ll gift some to myself. 🙂
Three Sets of Bible verse cards – Encourage your little scholar throughout the year by slipping one of these into their pencil or snack bag.
Lunch Note Jokes – Fun to read and to share. Give them giggles for lunch!
Sweet Lunch Notes – These are especially from mom with some cards containing Bible verses to encourage. How perfect.
Star Wars Lunch Notes – If your boys are enamored with Star Wars like my boys, then I’m sure these notes will be a hit.
I hate for my littles to miss out on the best parts of going to school, like getting a sweet note in your lunchbox from your mom. So, I really enjoy tying in traditions from my growing-up-going-to-school days whenever I can. If the ones I picked up aren’t quite your style, do a quick search on Pinterest where you’ll find lots more to choose from!

Thanks for sharing. The first day of school is so huge.

Yes, it is! Even though I loved it, I still got nervous butterflies each first day. 🙂

Some people are so creative =) I’m just glad that I remembered to take picture at all this year! lol Seriously though, I’m trying to think of some fun traditions to make for our homeschool too, because I love the nostalgia of back-to-school happenings when I was a kid!

We don’t have any traditions beyond this, but I’ve seen some really fun ideas out there! Gotta up my game 😉
