UPDATE: Carpenters, you are the winner! Please contact me with your e-mail address to receive the Eight Great Artists Resource from Sola Gratia Mom! Congrats! Thanks to everyone for entering!
Y’all know my affinity for an open and go type curriculum, right? Well, I like them. Especially right now! 🙂 Colleen from Sola Gratia Mom sent me a copy of her Eight Great Artists resource to review and it fits the bill.
I love that during our Classical Conversations community day fine arts is covered through teaching and hands-on art lessons. My littles LOVE it! At home, we usually spend a little time each week reviewing the new artist we learned about. Sola Gratia Mom’s resource makes it easy to review by providing artist flashcards, images of the well-known work by each artist, maps showing the geographical hometowns of each artist, new vocabulary, book recommendations, workbook pages, and even additional projects if you’re looking for more hands-on fun!
I printed the artist flashcards and famous works of arts, cut to size, and stored them in an easily accessible drawer of our card catalogue for the boys to review in the afternoon. I hope to find some of the books from the recommended list at our local library and will add them to our schoolroom book ledge.
Having these ready to go will certainly help me keep fine arts review classical & simple! For another fun and simple idea, check out how Melody of And Here We Go is using the resource in her homeschool.

Hi there! Would love to win these. This is our first year in CC, and we are lovin’ it. Really interested in the artists, since we started studying them 3 weeks ago. As for the entries, I have done 3 out of the 4. I couldn’t subscribe to your blog (#2), as I couldn’t figure out how. But I did everything else. Thanks again!
