I won’t pretend to know a lot – or very much at all – about Common Core. In fact, when the murmurs started growing about a year or so ago, the question I asked with my puzzled look intact was, “How does this affect homeschoolers?” Well, now I know some of the answers to that question and I want you to know as well. As tempting as it can be to check out with my often thought response, “Well, that’s just another reason we homeschool,” I think it is important to know what’s going on.
All that to say, are you interested in learning a bit more about the Common Core? Let me point you in the direction of a trusted and thorough source, the Home School Legal Defense Association. They’ve researched and written many articles on the subject, including sharing how it affects homeschoolers.

Thanks, Joanna! It takes discipline though, doesn’t it?

I tend to be the type of person who thinks that if I ignore something I don’t like, it will go away =) Tell me this will happen with the Common Core…right? Uggh. I don’t know a ton either, but what I do know I don’t like! Thanks for sharing the article.
