First, each of my littles sketched out a basic animal cell diagram from a picture I had already drawn for them. I had my oldest also label his with the names of each part. While they were working, I talked to them about the jobs of each part of the animal cell.
Next, they took various colors of play-doh and filled in the parts of the animal cell. They liked doing this and my younger two also sat at the table playing with play-doh. When our chosen activity can include each of my 4 children on some level, that makes schooling easier and more fun for all of us!
I later scraped off the play-doh, hole punched their papers and added them to their notebooks under the science tab. Later, I could print these photos out to add to their notebooks.
