Another CC mom organized a trip for our group to a local family-owned dairy farm. We visited last year and had so much fun, so this was a return trip. Farmer Jimmy and his wife Brenda gave us an excellent tour with details of the workings of the farm. We also had a hayride trip, picked our own pumpkins, and made a craft.
Our little miss was too tiny to remember last year, but she certainly LOVED the cows this year. She was petting their noses, feeding them, and getting plenty of cow licks. She even got to roam in the calves’ pen with the calves and her buddies.
A little nature walk around our neighborhood before dinner.
A spur of the moment classic science experiment done in minutes this afternoon per the request of one of my littles. Now we wait…. Other experiments were suggested in the moments before and after this experiment — making our own orange flavored gum, turning grapes into grape juice, etc. This was the one I could throw together the easiest!
And cutting apart animal classification cards to sort out the invertebrates. You can find these cards here. Some other great ones are listed here. Because we are nearly out of ink toner, we stuck with the ones I had previously printed!
