Our Treetop Quest Philly Adventure

For our children’s birthdays, we decided years ago to take them on a date with just mom and dad instead of giving gifts. It has become one of our favorite family traditions. This year we took our newly minted 12 year old to Treetop Quest in Philly. It’s, as they say, an “aerial adventure park” containing 5 obstacle and zip line courses. It typically takes 2.5 hours to complete all 5. We took just under 3 hours to complete it. The courses are varying degrees of difficulty, which means we started out thinking “this is hard, but awesome” and had moments of “this is just stinking hard”. Or at least, I did. My son and husband fared much better than me. I needed help on 2 obstacles and was beat by the end! But we were all smiling and laughing the whole time. It was SO much fun! My husband described it as one of his favorite things we’ve done, and my other four children all hope to do it one day. My youngest can even participate by doing the chick pea course for 4-6 year olds.

Each obstacle we faced was unique. Despite the heights, we felt safe the whole time, because we were set in on a belay system making it impossible to detach until you were done the course. Before we set out on the course, an employee gave us a detailed orientation with great memory tricks. Then we tried a sample course before going out on our own. While on the courses, we could call for an employee to help at any time. They were quick, and polite with each interaction.

If you decide to go, check out their website for online prices (which are slightly discounted), and seasonal deals. If we were going more than once, I’d definitely consider the season pass.
