Cycle Two – Week Twelve

History – I love the idea of checking out maps and paintings displaying the Battle of Waterloo.  My guys totally love looking at artwork and asking all sorts of questions.  In this case, we’ll look at images on my computer rather than printing any out.  We’ll look for weather, terrain, attire, weaponry, gear, etc.  The map can give us clues to the size, scale, and location of the armies.  If you’re not sure how you’d discuss art with your littles, be sure to check out Christy’s posts.

English – We’ll create more flashcards for this week’s list of indefinite pronouns on 5×7 cards.  On the lined side, we’ll write the pronouns.  On the blank side, we’ll draw a representative picture.

Latin – Practice reciting the first conjugation endings.

Science – As we continue to study astronomy, we’ll continue to work on our solar system model.  NASA has some cool pictures and commentary regarding U.S. space history.

Math – We’ll use some liquids and dry ingredients to measure out this week’s math facts.  Perhaps, we’ll even bake something!

Geography – After drawing a simple black line map on thick paper, we’ll watercolor on the eastern European seas.

Fine Arts – More tin whistle practice!

Week 12 is when our community picks back up after Christmas break.  I’m looking forward to the time of celebration and rest.  How about you?
