CC at Home Book Club – Echo In Celebration

UPDATE: Addie Krull, congrats!, you are the winner of a copy of Echo in Celebration!

Friends, the CC at Home book club selection #2 is Echo in Celebration: A Call to Home Centered Education by Leigh Bortins.  I’ve only just begun reading Echo. I recently finished re-reading Leigh’s The Core and I must say, the feel of them is so different.  I feel like Leigh is sharing her heart in Echo and it’s inspiring me already! After all, isn’t that one of the best parts of being part of a homeschool community? Sharing, encouraging, and inspiring each other?

Do you want to read along? I have good news.  Echo is MUCH shorter than the last book club selection.  Also, there are two ways to get your own copy: 1) You can read it for free using this PDF.  2) You can enter below to win your own copy of the book.  This is good, if you’re like me, and you want to mark it all up, write notes in it, and stash it on your bookshelf to re-read later or loan out to a friend.

Classical Conversations has graciously offered one copy to a lucky reader here, as well as one reader from Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood and And Here We Go. Please feel free to enter all three places and join in as we read together!
The giveaway ends June 14, 2013 at 12:00am.  The winner will be announced on June 15, 2013.  If the winner cannot be reached within 72 hours, a new winner will be selected and contacted.  Happy entering & reading everyone!

My favorite part of my homeschool community is the diversity of experiences. It helps me to teach my children to learn from the experiences of others and to depend on God in every situation. “The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm 18:2.

Well, after sitting staring at my computer for the last 10 or 15 minutes reading the first few pages of this book, I decided I’d better print it so I can highlight it (and stop staring at the computer).

Started reading the ebook. I too would love to have a print copy. I need to highlight and give to hubby in hopes of getting him on board!

What I love about HSing in general and CC in particular is that even among like minded folks, there are lots of different ways to “do it.” We are not all the same, neither are our children. We can use the guidelines of CC and implement them into our own individual families in so many ways.

We love homeschooling because we can learn and truly live “life” together! Excited to read the CC book club selection this month!

I love that we are a relatively small group with wonderful families. We hope we can grow with these families for many years.

My favorite part about my homeschool community? Well, I’m a brand new homeschooler (just decided a few weeks ago) so my favorite part so far is the homeschooler willingness to share…experiences, advice, opinions, curriculum, everything. I’m amazed everyday at how open and honest homeschoolers are! Love it!

My favorite part of my homeschool community is the support and encouragement we share. I’ve also learned so much from other homeschooling families even if we don’t “do” homeschool the say way.

Just finished the PDF, but would love to have a printed copy to reference! We will be CC newbies in the fall and can’t wait! We are just staing to get into unit studies and the kids seem like their love of learning has been renewed…..and mine too;)
