Classical Composers Monthly Review & Giveaway

Melody of And Here We Go recently shared about a classical music resource service called Classical Composers Monthly.  Well, I checked it out! And it’s great!  Please allow me to tell you about it…

Essentially a (CC!) homeschool mom, Erica Johns, and her son have searched, reviewed, and compiled the best online resources for many classical composers, as well as some artists.   They offer three collections at a cost of $15 each and from their website, this is how it works —

Each month you will receive an email introducing a classical music composer, and you will get a special members-only link to access the resources we’ve compiled for you. In most cases you’ll get interesting ebooks,  a playlist you will be able to enjoy with a simple click, videos related to the composer and their music, activities, assignment ideas, and more. (content varies depending on what is available at the time when we compile the resources) You’ll continue to have access to each Classical Composer resource page indefinitely.

You can also access the resources for any of the composers in your purchased collection at any time.

Let me just say, I know none to very little about classical composers.  The bit I know is from my years of playing the piano and since then, our cc studies last year and this year.  I could really use the help on preparing for teaching about the composers to my little scholars!! Plus I love that they’ve screened all the provided videos, etc to ensure they are family friendly.  This means, when my oldest says, “Can we watch another video on ____ ?”  (which he ALWAYS does) then I can say, “Yes, click on the next one.” rather than think, “uhhh, no, because I spent over an hour and this is the only good one I found.” while actually saying “sorry, bud, no.” (run-on sentence anyone? sorry my mind thinks in run-ons!)   Just that little bit of extra sounds so great to me!

This is wonderful as I am just learning all about these composers through classical conversations. So I would love to win collection 1. Thanks for the opportunity.

I love opportunities to do better at our Fine Arts in our homeschool. Thanks for this giveaway, and thanks to Erica, as well. The Handel lesson looks amazing. Coolio!

I think collection 1 would be my first choice, but since I don’t know much about the composers, maybe others would be good as well. 🙂 This looks fun, and I know how much Elijah loves classical music.
